Becoming an outstanding communicator, be it to your staff, colleagues or the media, requires skill and practice. There are many things to consider;
what to say, how to say it, how you look and sound, what you wear.
The structure of your communication, key messaging and dissemination, the list goes on.
Our training helps turn CEOs, senior executives and their staff into brilliant communicators by arming them with all the information and skills they need
to make a memorable impression, be it in the boardroom to an audience of 5, a speech in front of hundreds or when a camera or microphone is being pointed
at your face.
Our training covers two key aspects of business communication, personal communication and media communication.
Personal Communication training:
This one-day course aims to remove the fear and some of the myths behind public speaking and unlock the public speaker in you. Bespoke training sessions
are available.
Through a range of techniques and exercises, we will help you to:
- Radiate confidence
- Enhance your body language
- Control your nerves and conquer your fears
- Write your script
- Engage your audience
- Project your voice
- Earn the respect of your audience and colleagues
- Speak positively and authoritatively
All attendees will receive handouts with vital tips, exercises and lessons learned on the day to take away.
This is a highly practical course where you will, throughout the day, participate in a range of physical and verbal exercises. The day concludes with you
making a speech in a variety of hand-picked spaces in order to experience different environments; from more intimate spaces to a large auditorium.
Media training:
Facing the media can be a daunting experience, whether it is to promote company news, stave off a crisis or plug an event. It is all too easy to get tongue
tied, miss a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity or, even worse, end up presenting your business in a negative light.
Our media training is run by journalists who have made a career in digging out information and asking difficult questions, and corporate communications
experts who know how to handle them to remain on message and positive. Both sides of the coin are examined to give you a greater understanding of how to
successfully engage the media.
The training will ease the pressure and stress of talking to the media and help turn you into a skilled commentator. They include setting up a television
studio with cameras and lights, mock press conferences and other real-life situations you might face.
The training includes:
- Work across all disciplines – print, online, broadcast (television and radio)
- Dealing with recorded and live interviews to protect and grow your reputation
- Interview and presentation skills
- Verbal and non-verbal communication
- Controlling nervousness
- How to handle difficult questions
- Tips from the trade and advice such as why “no comment” is never the answer
- Extensive practical work
